Submit to the Will of God

It’s a New Year and we’re two days away from a new month.  Funny how time flies.  I know for some of you, it’s not funny, because those same situations that plagued you in 2011 , have crept into 2012.  You tried to shake it, prayed over it, but each day you’re reminded it’s still there.  You start to question why is God putting you through all of this.  How could He allow you to go through this pain and strife?  Sometimes we fight so hard with what God is telling us, that we turn a deaf ear and act like He hasn’t said a thing.  The answers are there, but are we ready to accept God’s solution for our situation?  This post is for all of us that say we are ready to turn it over to God, but we just can’t seem to let go of the reins.

You’ve been crying, overly stressed, feeling at the end of your rope.  You’ve cried yourself to sleep many a night, and you’re begging for a way out of the situation.  You’ve asked God to give you the answer, show you a sign, put it up on a billboard on the Kennedy expressway.  You’ve also been trying to work it out on your own because you say you haven’t heard from God and you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired.  I could probably go on and on, because some of you have been having your own personal pity parties…with VIP service 🙂  Well, STOP!  I’ll say it again, STOP!  Why are you trying to do something that you’ve already asked God to help you do.  He’s right there with you at this very moment, He has answered your prayers, but you have got to fully accept what His decision is.  You’re crying, but in Psalms 30:5 it reads, “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”  So why are we still hurting over what God has already done?!  Why are you still praying about it like you haven’t been given the solution.  Joy has cometh, but you’re too busy embracing the negative, you don’t feel it.  You’re too busy telling God, “Wait Lord, that’s not the answer I was looking for.  Or I’m not ready to do that just yet.”  We are doing too much “I” and “me” that we can’t hear “Him.”  We’re so busy trying to be in control, that we’ve forgotten how to submit.  We’ve allowed the enemy to trick us into believing that our outcome of the situation is the best one, and so now we’re trying to convince God.  As it reads in James 4:7, “Submit therefore to God.  Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Now ladies, I know the word submit might make some of you cringe.  Or it could just be me Lol.  Honestly though, I’m okay with submitting to the One who never lets me down, never leaves me alone, knows my heart, my conviction, and has written this Grand purpose that’s meant for me and only me!  We are human, so we must pray and die daily.  This is because we will continue to have problems and our imperfect reaction is to get worried, feel down, wonder why you, etc…  Our Faith must sustain us.  We must believe that through our prayer, we are having that one-on-one time with God and He is answering that prayer.  This Winans song, which is one of my favorites, says, “Ain’t no need to worry, what tomorrow’s gonna bring…it’ll be all over, in the morning.”  The morning is a representation of how God works.  With Faith, the answer has been received, because we’ve told God that we do receive it.  And in His time, we will.  However, we must submit ourselves to that Will, or those tears and that pain will linger on and cause even worse problems for you.

I know some of you are saying, come on Nicki, like seriously, have you always heard from the Lord.  My answer to you is yes.  Have I heard a voice come down from the heavens, um no.  But I have seen the signs, I’ve felt that nudge at my arm, I’ve let go of what I’ve wanted and focused in on what God wants.  Has this always been the case…Lord, no.  However, the key to overcoming obstacles, trials and bad situations is to know that His solution will make your life Better.  His outcome, although we may not understand right away, is all about us fulfilling His Divine purpose for our lives.  When you submit to the Will of God, you know that tough times don’t last for long.  Everything that doesn’t bring you joy, is not always about what you’ve done wrong, but it is a test of your Faith.  A continuance of what God wants you to do right.  That is to Trust in Him.  You’re problems that seem unsolvable and have caused you to stop listening and believing are just the opposite.  They are solvable and joy does cometh in the morning.  It starts right now.  Get down on your knees and submit to the Will of God for your life.  Know that His Will never fails.  It will bring you everlasting life and to be able to live it more abundantly.  I’m praying that we can all be on one accord, so we can live the rest of this life, just the way He wants us to…Happy and Blessed, and being a Blessing to others!
